Twitch
Why Twitch works differently from every other connected platform in Creaon — channel and follower data plus scheduled channel updates, never a video post.
Overview — fundamentally different from the others
Twitch is not a video-posting platform in Creaon, and can't become one — Twitch's own API has no endpoint to upload pre-recorded video; a Video On Demand only exists after actually broadcasting live. Everything below reflects that.
Connect Twitch
From Connected Accounts, choose Connect Twitch, sign in on Twitch's own screen, and approve the requested permissions.
What Creaon can access
- Your basic profile and email.
- Permission to update your channel's title, category, and tags.
Follower count and live status
Once connected, Creaon syncs your real total follower count and your channel's current live/offline state, along with basic channel info.
Channel & stream updates, not video publishing
Scheduling a Twitch "post" on the Calendar schedules a channel/stream metadata update instead: the post's title becomes your stream title, and its tags become your channel tags, applied at the scheduled time. There's no media step for Twitch — nothing is uploaded.
Analytics limitations
Twitch analytics in Creaon are intentionally limited to what's actually real: current follower count, current live/offline state, and basic info for your recent VODs and clips (title, duration, view count) — Twitch's API exposes no likes, comments, or shares for either, and no historical viewer or session data at all. There's no engagement or historical-viewership chart for Twitch because that data doesn't exist to sync.
Disconnect & reconnect
Disconnecting removes the connection and revokes it with Twitch. A connection made before channel-update publishing existed needs to reconnect — Creaon shows "Reconnect Twitch to enable scheduled channel/stream updates" in that case.
Troubleshooting
- A scheduled Twitch update didn't change your stream — check that the connection doesn't need reconnecting for channel-update permission (see above).
- Expecting a video post — Twitch can't publish pre-recorded video through Creaon; only channel/stream metadata updates.
- Expecting historical viewer analytics — Twitch's API doesn't provide it; only current follower count and live status are available.
