Troubleshooting
Real, common problems with connections, publishing, AI, and analytics — what you'll see, why it happens, and what to do.
Connection problems
- What you see: authorization was cancelled. Why: you closed or declined the platform's consent screen. What to do: choose Connect again and approve it.
- What you see: "That sign-in attempt expired." Why: the connection attempt took too long or was reopened in a new tab. What to do: start the connection again from Connected Accounts.
- What you see: status reads "Reconnect needed." Why: the platform revoked or expired the authorization on its end. What to do: choose Reconnect on that platform's tile.
- What you see: a connected platform shows a plain-language notice (e.g. "Reconnect YouTube to enable video publishing"). Why: the connection predates a capability Creaon added later, so the original grant doesn't include it. What to do: reconnect — it repeats the same flow with the current permission set.
- What you see (Instagram specifically): "We couldn't find an Instagram professional account linked to a Facebook Page you manage." Why: your Instagram account isn't a Professional account, or isn't linked to a Facebook Page you manage. What to do: set that up on Meta's side, then try connecting again.
Publishing problems
- What you see: a slot stays Scheduled with a note instead of publishing itself. Why: the platform can't auto-publish this slot — commonly missing media (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok all require it attached ahead of time), or the platform has no automatic path at all (Spotify). What to do: attach the required media before the scheduled time, or publish it yourself and mark it published.
- What you see: a slot is marked Failed. Why: the platform rejected the request — an expired connection, content over a limit, or an invalid file. What to do: read the reason shown, fix it if it's something like an oversized file or a stale connection, and choose Retry.
- What you see: X specifically fails with a quota or rate-limit message. Why: X's own API plan for the connected account ran out of quota/credits, or hit a short-term rate limit — this is X's constraint, not Creaon's. What to do: wait and retry, or check the connected account's X API access level.
- What you see: a scheduled YouTube or TikTok video publishes but isn't public. Why: automatic publishing deliberately uploads YouTube video as Private and TikTok video at its most private available option — by design, to never guess a public choice on an unattended post. What to do: publish directly from Content Studio instead if you want to set visibility yourself, or adjust it on the platform after it's up.
AI problems
- What you see: an AI tool is visibly disabled, with a message about ANTHROPIC_API_KEY or OPENAI_API_KEY. Why: no AI provider is configured on the account yet. What to do: this is a one-time server-side setup step; once configured, every AI feature turns on at once.
- What you see: "The AI engine returned an error." Why: the configured AI provider itself returned an error for that request. What to do: try again; if it persists, the provider connection itself may need attention.
Analytics problems
- What you see: no data anywhere on Analytics & Performance. Why: nothing is connected yet, or connected platforms haven't completed a first sync. What to do: connect a platform, then allow time for the first sync — Connected Accounts shows sync status.
- What you see: a connected platform is missing a specific metric others have. Why: platform-specific — Instagram insights need additional Meta approval, some X metrics need a paid API tier, and Twitch exposes no historical viewer data at all. What to do: nothing to fix on your side for most of these; they reflect real provider limitations, not a sync problem.
Product Tour & Help
- What you see: you skipped or closed the Product Tour and want it back. Why: dismissing it (finish or skip) stops it from reopening on its own. What to do: restart it anytime from Settings → Product tour.
- What you see: this Help Center itself. Why it's separate: Help is public and doesn't track your account or tour progress — it's reference material, available whether or not you're signed in.
