X
Connecting X (formerly Twitter), what publishing and analytics look like today, and the API plan limitations that can honestly affect both.
Overview
X connects through X's own OAuth sign-in and stays connected without needing you to sign in again, until you disconnect or the authorization is revoked.
Connect X
From Connected Accounts, choose Connect X, sign in on X's own screen, and approve the requested permissions.
What Creaon can access
- Your basic profile (username and account id).
- Your posts, for reading performance.
- Permission to post and upload media on your behalf.
- A long-lived connection, so you don't have to reauthorize repeatedly.
Analytics
Some metrics — impression counts in particular — are only returned by X for accounts on a paid X API tier. Creaon reads whatever the connected account's current plan makes available and is explicit when a metric can't be read rather than estimating it.
Publishing
X publishing supports a text-only post, or a post with one attached JPEG image or MP4/MOV video — the only connected platform where media is optional rather than required.
API plan limitations
X's API enforces its own rate limits and plan quotas, independent of Creaon. If the connected account's plan runs out of quota/credits, or hits a short-term rate limit, Creaon shows that plainly (and retries a scheduled post later, or on request) rather than fabricating a result. This is a real, current constraint of X's API access, not a Creaon limitation that can be worked around from within the product.
Disconnect & reconnect
Disconnecting removes the connection and revokes it with X. An existing connection made before posting permissions were added needs to reconnect — Creaon shows "Reconnect X to enable posting" in that case.
Troubleshooting
- A post fails with a rate-limit or quota message — this is X's API plan, not your Creaon account; retry later or check the connected account's X API access level.
- Status shows "Reconnect needed" for publishing — an older connection may be missing posting permission; reconnect.
- A metric shows as unavailable rather than zero — some metrics require a paid X API tier and simply can't be read on others.
